Summary
Governance and management frameworks concerning the use and application of Artificial Intelligence demand organizations - across the private, public, and the not-for-profit sector – to acquire knowledge and develop capabilities to manage this critical resource. This course provides an in-depth overview of current issues concerning responsible and ethical AI governance; national and multinational protocols and frameworks which participants can use to guide their use of AI and AI-driven applications; skillsets and toolkits which are beneficial for AI training and capacity development purposes; and ideas for partnerships and collaboration on a critical enabler for future technologies which works across national boundaries and domains.
Instructor
Maral Niazi is a former Digital Policy Hub doctoral fellow and a Ph.D. student at the Balsillie School of International Affairs with a multidisciplinary background in political science, human rights, law and global governance. Her research with the Digital Policy Hub expanded on her doctoral research on the global governance of AI where she will examine the societal impacts of AI on humanity.
Format
The masterclass format is a concise summary of 4 sessions delivered over a 3-hour period. Upon completion of the masterclass learning objectives, participants will receive a BEI certificate.
