Summary
The Public Inquiry into Foreign Interference issued its final report on January 28, 2025. The report looked back to assess foreign interference threats to Canadian elections and democratic processes between 2018 and 2024. Importantly, it also looked forward to discuss future threats and make recommendations, 51 in total, on how the government could be better equipped to deal with them. We will examine the report’s findings, its recommendations, the challenges of implementing them, and aspects of the threat that might need more attention.
