Foreign interference in Canada’s democracy has become a major issue of concern and has attracted great media and political interest recently. This course examines the nature and objectives of foreign interference, the targets of foreign interference activity, the tools deployed by malicious actors, and the response capabilities that are required.

This masterclass is offered as part of the National Security Masterclass Series.

Masterclass Series

The Balsillie Executive Institute is launching an innovative, new series of national security masterclasses. Key topical issues include modernising national security legislation, strengthening Canada’s economic security, understanding the threat of foreign interference, and assessing Canada’s place in the Five Eyes intelligence and security partnership.

Each masterclass features an intensive, fast-paced analysis of the issues, led by Dr. Wesley Wark. The key learning objective of the masterclass is to equip students with a critical understanding of the policy challenges involved for each topic.
